Noted for its 2 crops per year, the Sweetheart Highbush Blueberry is a bushy upright deciduous shrub, with oval dark green leaves warming up to brilliant red shades in the fall. In spring, bell-shaped, white flowers give way to abundant clusters of large, sweet, juicy blueberries which ripen early in the season (late spring to early summer). This first heavy crop is even followed by another lighter second crop in mild late summer climates to Vigorous, the Sweetheart Blueberry yields up to 5 lbs. per plant. The berries are equally delicious and sweet in desserts or eaten fresh. Self-fertile but as always, cross-pollination produces the heaviest yields.
